JTI Make It Bright 2026 Challenge

1. Introduction

Make It Bright is a challenge with the possibility to win a 12-month paid traineeship at JTI. The Challenge shall take place from October 1st, 2026, to November 20th, 2026, via the Make It Bright Challenge Instagram page available at www.instagram.com/makeitbrightchallenge (“Platform”).

Aim of the Challenge

• To offer participants (aged 21 and above) an experience valuable for their future professional development (entrepreneurial skills, creativity skills, etc.).
• To offer participants (aged 21 and above) an opportunity to be selected for a 12-month paid traineeship at JTI and/or its affiliates.
• Not to promote or advertise JTI’s brands or products.

No participation fee or purchase is required.

The Challenge is organized by JT International SA (JTI), with registered address at 8 Rue Kazem-Radjavi, 1202 Geneva, Switzerland, and with the collaboration of its affiliates. JTI shall also include its affiliates. JTI reserves the right to subcontract part of the organization of the Challenge to a third party.

2. Who Can Join?

The Challenge is intended for participants satisfying the conditions below and providing proof of eligibility.

A participant is an eligible candidate who successfully completed the registration process via the Platform.

Participating Countries

The final list of participating countries will be accessible at the Platform from the Starting Date (as defined above). Applicants shall only apply for the country in which they live and have a valid work permit (if necessary). Once the application to the Challenge has been submitted, Participants cannot change the country in which they have registered for, for whatever reason.

Age & Studies

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and either: hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) or be on track to earn a bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) by January 2027.

Employment Status

Applicants must have no more than two (2) years of full-time employment experience. Internships, apprenticeships, and summer job experiences do not count towards full-time employment.

Relation to JTI and/or its Affiliates and/or Service Provider

At any time during the Challenge, Participants cannot be current or past JTI employees.

Knowledge of English Language and Travelling

Applicants should be able to understand, read, write and communicate in English without difficulties. Applicants should be open to and available for global travel (either short-term or long-term) as may be required during the Challenge.

Instagram Account

There is only one (1) entry per person per Challenge. An account is individual and not transferable. A Participant cannot create an account on the Platform on behalf of a third party, nor use an account of another Participant. All Participants must have a valid e-mail address.

3. The Schedule and the Steps of the Challenge

The Challenge participation period runs from October 1st to November 20th, 2026. Activities related to selection, recruitment, and the final round will continue through May 2027, as detailed below.

Every time and date defined in the Governing Rules is expressed in the Geneva, Switzerland time zone (GMT +1).

Where necessary, JTI may alter the duration of the Challenge as well as start date, finish date and duration of the steps of the Challenge, which will be conveyed to Participants.

Challenge Timeline

The Challenge consists of 4 main steps:

Step 1: The Challenge

The registration opens on October 1st and closes on November 20th as detailed above. For their registration to the Challenge, the Participant must have a personal Instagram account and when registering for the Challenge must provide the following mandatory information:

• A valid email address
• Age
• Country of residency
• Level of employment
• Level of studies

To validate their registration, the Participant must accept the Governing Rules, the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions. Failure to accept these will prohibit the completion of the official registration forms.

The Challenge will be released on the Platform. Participants may also be provided with additional data and materials to support their participation.

To progress to Step 2 – Selection & Hiring, participants will be invited to complete two main challenges designed to assess the skills required for the next stage of the selection process:

Challenge 01

Will require participants to submit a 1-min video or a maximum 6-slide carousel presenting their idea as per the following instructions: “Reimagine career development for graduates using AI and new technologies . If you could reinvent how companies use AI and new tech to accelerate career progression, how would you use it to help Gen Z talent learn faster and grow with confidence?.”

The Participants are invited to use any digital tool of their choice, including AI, to help them ideate and present the idea.

Challenge 02

Will require Participants to record a 2-minute video introducing themselves and sharing their motivation for participating in Make It Bright.

Judging Criteria

These two challenges will require manual assessment by the JTI Jury. The Jury will check all the submissions and assign points manually based on the quality of the submissions, and as per the below criteria:

Challenge 01 Judging Criteria

• Critical & analytical thinking (up to 200 pts) The Participants’ idea is original, thoughtful, and offers meaningful insight into how companies can better support emerging talent.
• Digital skills & creativity (up to 200 pts) The Participants make the most of your chosen AI tools and use their features to express your creativity.
• Clarity & communication (up to 100 pts) The Participants present their idea in a clear, structured way that’s easy to understand and follow.

Challenge 02 Judging Criteria

• Motivation (max 300 points) The Participants explain why they want to join Make It Bright and be selected for the JTI’s Graduate Program (12-month paid traineeship) and the Final Event, and what they hope to gain from this experience.
• Communication skills (max 100 points) The Participants introduce themselves and share their motivations in a clear, structured way that’s easy to understand and follow.
• Creativity (max 100 points) The Participants added a personal touch to their video using visuals, sound, transitions, or any other creative effects.

The points collected for the two Challenges will be communicated directly to each Participant via the Platform by the end of November 2026. The final points, which will include both the points collected for the two Challenges and those collected during Step 2 – Selection & Hiring, will be communicated to the Participants in January 2027.

Mini Booster (Optional)

In addition to the two main challenges, Participants will have the opportunity to take part in one optional mini booster, which can get them extra points and increase their chances of being selected for the JTI’s Graduate Program (12-month paid traineeship).

• Mini Booster: Quiz format, testing participant’s familiarity with JTI. The points will be assigned automatically, 20 points per each correct answer.

Both main challenges and the optional mini booster must be completed by November 20th, 2026 on the Make It Bright Challenge Instagram page. Mini booster will expire 24 hours after being initiated by the Participants while the two main challenges don’t have any time limitation.

All deliverables submitted to JTI in connection with the Challenges must be in English. All deliverables shall comply with other conditions set forth in the Governing Rules, including but not limited to Expected Behavior and Intellectual Property Rights.

Step 2: Selection & Hiring

After the Challenge closes and the Jury has completed the manual assessment, the top participants from each country will be announced end of November 2026. They will then be invited to register in the JTI recruitment system and enter the hiring process, as follows:

• Step 1: First Interview
• Step 2: Manager Interview with Business case

Hired candidates will be announced on January 15th, 2027.

Step 3: Start of the Graduates Program

The Graduates Program will start for all selected participants as of February/March 2027. The Global Graduate Program is a standard global model designed to attract, accelerate and develop future-ready talent at JTI. Through real business experiences, development opportunities and meaningful projects, graduates gain the skills and exposure needed to build their careers in an international environment.

Step 4: The Final Event

On January 15, 2027, the top 25 participants among the hired candidates will also be announced and invited to participate in The Final Event. JTI team will be in touch with the Finalists to provide them with all the details for The Final Event and arrange the trip to Hamburg.

The Final Event will take place in May 2027 in Hamburg, Germany. The exact date will be communicated on the Platform.

Participation in the The Final Event will be subject to obtaining a valid permit/VISA for Germany, if required. The selected Participant will be accountable for providing all the necessary documents to request the Germany visa, and submit the application promptly, with the support of JTI team, to join The Final Event in person.

Online participation or any type of compensation in case of failure to be present physically won’t be possible. If one (1) or more country-winning Participants cannot attend The Final Event for any reason, including disqualification, refusal to accept the applicable conditions, failure to obtain a visa, or any other reason preventing attendance, JTI reserves the right to withdraw their invitation to The Final Event and select another Participant in accordance with the Challenge results leaderboard. Failure to attend The Final Event will not affect the Participant’s participation in the JTI’s Graduate Program (12-month paid traineeship) or otherwise have any impact on their eligibility or status under the applicable program rules.

4. Prizes

Top participants from each country will win a 12-month paid traineeship at JTI.

A total of 100 traineeships opportunities are available. The Company /JTI reserves its right to change/amend this allocation/numbers at any time and at its full discretion. These figures and allocations are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute a binding commitment.

The deadline to start the traineeship is February/March 2027. Failure to join on or before this date by the participants will entitle JTI to withdraw from the JTI’s Graduate Program (12-month paid traineeship).

5. Amendment of the Rules

We may be required to amend these rules inter alia to comply with any new legislation and/or applicable regulations.

Any amendment shall be integrated within these rules and shall be published on the Platform. If any clause hereunder is declared null or void, it shall have no impact on the validity of the Official Rules themselves.
